Who we are

ResellFinder is an iPhone app that helps you photograph thrift and resale finds, research estimated resale prices, make sourcing decisions, and keep records in a private account. For privacy questions or data requests, contact privacy@resellfinder.app.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address, display name, and sign-in method (Apple, Google, or email). If you use Apple's Hide My Email feature, we do not use your private relay address as your display name.

Item research and records: photographs you capture or select, item titles, descriptions and notes, AI-assisted estimates, sourcing decisions, saved finds and lockers, and sale information you choose to record.

Optional sourcing location: when you choose to save a location and grant permission, we collect latitude and longitude, reported location accuracy in meters, the time of the location fix, a reverse-geocoded place or street label, and any location title you enter.

Purchases: App Store product identifiers, purchase and entitlement status, and related subscription or scan-pack information provided through Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card number.

Device and session information: a session token is stored on your device to keep you signed in. Service providers may process technical information necessary for authentication, transactions, security, and operation of the app.

Usage analytics: for signed-in research, we record account-associated activity such as AI checks, eBay checks, photo uploads, saved finds, sourcing decisions, recorded sales, and usage-limit blocks, including whether the action succeeded and where it started. We also record research observations such as item category, estimate confidence, low, likely, and high estimated prices, and eBay lookup status. These observation records do not contain item titles, photographs, GPS coordinates, or complete eBay listing payloads.

How we use your information

We use your information to sign you in, analyze items, provide resale research and buying calculations, save and display your finds, organize sourcing and sale records, manage purchases and entitlements, respond to support and privacy requests, and protect the reliability and security of the service.

Resale estimates are informational and may be inaccurate. They do not guarantee authenticity, actual selling prices, demand, or profit.

Photos, AI analysis, and eBay research

When you request item research, ResellFinder may send submitted item photographs and relevant item details to Google's paid Gemini API for item identification and AI-assisted resale estimates. Under Google's applicable paid-service terms, submitted content and responses are not used to improve Google's products. Google may process or retain limited information for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance as described in its terms.

For eBay comparable-listing searches, ResellFinder sends item-derived search text rather than publicly posting your private item photographs. eBay listing prices are asking prices and are not necessarily completed sale prices.

We do not sell your item photographs or use them to build advertising profiles.

Cloud and iPhone photo storage

Private uploaded item photographs are stored in an account-scoped object store using DigitalOcean Spaces. Access to these photographs is provided through short-lived links.

Each uploaded cloud photograph receives a retention expiration date 90 days after upload. An automated cleanup process removes the photograph from DigitalOcean Spaces and deletes its photo record after expiration, even if the associated find remains in your Haul Locker. Deleting a find or your account removes its associated private cloud photographs sooner.

The iPhone also keeps scan photographs in the app's local Documents folder. These local copies are not subject to the 90-day cloud cleanup. They remain while the associated find remains in the app, unless you delete the find, delete your account, or uninstall the app. A local photograph may therefore remain visible after its cloud copy expires.

The associated find and its title, estimates, sourcing decisions, sale notes, and other saved research are not automatically deleted when a cloud photograph expires. Those records remain until you delete the find or your account.

Optional location and Apple geocoding

Location access is optional. If you allow location access and choose to save where you found an item, ResellFinder reads a foreground location fix or eligible last-known location and records the coordinates, reported accuracy, capture time, readable location label, and any title you provide. Research works without location permission.

To turn coordinates into a readable place or street label, the iPhone uses Apple's geocoding service through expo-location. Your latitude and longitude are provided to Apple for that lookup. ResellFinder then saves the location details to its own API and database, associated with your account.

Saved sourcing coordinates are not sent to Google Gemini or eBay for item research. We do not use your sourcing locations for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Permissions

Camera and Photos permissions let you photograph or attach an item for research. Location permission, when granted, is used while the app is in use to save an optional sourcing location.

ResellFinder does not use the microphone or Face ID for its item-research features.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps ResellFinder manage purchase information, subscription status, and entitlements, including access to eligible features or scan packs. ResellFinder does not receive your full payment card number.

Service providers and sharing

We share information only as needed to operate ResellFinder with service providers including Supabase (authentication), our application host and database, DigitalOcean Spaces (private photographs), Google Gemini (AI item analysis), eBay (listing searches), Apple (device geocoding and App Store services), and RevenueCat (in-app purchases and entitlements). Each provider receives information relevant to its role.

We do not sell personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not use advertising SDKs or track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

Usage analytics and research insights

ResellFinder maintains first-party usage analytics. These records include actions such as AI checks, eBay checks, photo uploads, saved finds, sourcing decisions, recorded sales, and usage-limit blocks, together with whether the action succeeded and where it started. Signed-in activity is associated with your account.

Research observations record the category, confidence, estimated low, likely, and high resale values, and eBay lookup status for individual research requests. These observation records do not store item titles, photographs, GPS coordinates, or full marketplace listing payloads.

We use these records to show your own activity in Settings > Insights, display aggregated market-category insights, prepare administrative activity summaries, compare Rapid Scan and single-item research, understand category interest, and evaluate and improve the service. Usage analytics are separate from the records used to enforce subscription limits and manage billing.

When your account is permanently deleted, ResellFinder deletes usage events and research observations associated with your user account. Usage events that are not tied to an account are not removed by that deletion. Daily aggregated market-category totals remain, and those totals do not include an account identifier. We do not describe unlinked events as necessarily anonymous if they contain other identifying information.

ResellFinder does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs such as Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, PostHog, Mixpanel, or Amplitude. It does not include third-party crash-reporting SDKs such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry. Core service providers may still process technical or operational information needed to provide and secure their services. We do not use these analytics for cross-app advertising tracking.

Retention, account deletion, and your choices

Uploaded cloud item photographs expire after 90 days as described above. Local iPhone copies and saved account research have different retention periods: local photographs remain with the find on the device, and account-backed research remains until the find or account is deleted.

To permanently delete your account, open Settings > Account & data > Delete account and data, type DELETE, and tap Permanently delete account. This deletes your private cloud photographs, account-backed research, estimates, sourcing decisions, sale records, lockers, preferences, user-linked usage events and research observations, and sign-in account. The app signs you out and clears its locally stored account data. Account deletion cannot be undone.

Usage events without an associated user ID are not deleted by the user-account cascade. Aggregated daily market-category totals are also retained separately and do not include a user ID. These retained records are described further in Usage analytics and research insights.

Uninstalling the app removes its local app data but does not itself delete your backend account or saved research.

To request a copy of your account-backed information or ask a privacy question, email privacy@resellfinder.app. The app does not currently offer a self-service data-export download.

Limited information may remain in backups, operational logs, or records subject to legal or security retention obligations, where applicable. The exact handling of such records depends on the relevant systems and service providers.

California privacy rights

California residents may contact privacy@resellfinder.app to request access to or deletion of their account-backed personal information, subject to applicable law and exceptions. ResellFinder does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children

ResellFinder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or legal requirements change. The effective date shown above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
